 | | Bill Bell between hikes | Bonga Tree: Begin in the driveway of Resbalosa. This hike takes you to the third largest tree on the entire Osa Peninsula. On the way to the Bonga tree, you'll walk through beautiful stands of primary and secondary rainforest, in search of wildlife. Ask for directions from Concepcion. -
Cerro Osa Hike - begins at the entrance to Albert & Penny Foster's farm. This is a great hike, which will lead you through beautiful stands of virgin rainforest, and up to the highest point in the Matapalo area. From this view point, you will have a stunning panoramic view of the Golfo Dulce, Pacific Ocean, and Corcovado National Park. Along the hiking trail you will pass through a reforestation project where various species of trees have been planted to regenerate the rainforest. This is a great hike to see wildlife and the many bird species found in this area. -
Night Walk - Any rainforest trail that you explored during the daytime will completely change when night falls. Nocturnal animals wake up and begin their day only when the sun goes down. Your guide will walk you through the forest in search of animals like kinkajous, wolf spiders, tree frogs, small jungle cats, glowworms and fireflies, and many other wondrous night creatures. You will also see some of the plants that bloom only at night. -
